Djokovic and Nadal meet for the ninth time in Rome, more than any other tournament.

Nadal won 20 of 27 meetings with Djokovic on clay.

Djokovic is said to be at a physical disadvantage after having to play for nearly five hours in the quarterfinals and semi-finals a day earlier.

Nadal did not leave a gap of up to three games when he immediately won the next game of catching the ball.

Nadal was upset after slipping in the first set due to tripping over the court line.

Unlike the outside matches, Nadal served well in the first set with an 84% entry rate, including three aces.

The weather also partly influenced the outcome of the match, as the wind blew along both ends of the field.
