Besides the brightest star Dzeko, who contributed 10 goals, Ibisevic (No. 9) and Pjanic (No. 8) also made other important contributions to help Bosnia & Herzegovia succeed in this qualifying round.

The brightest star Edin Dzeko failed yesterday.

Thanks to this 1-0 win, Bosnia & Herzegovina finished with 25 points, equal to Greece, but still took the top spot in Group G thanks to surpassing the Euro 2004 champion in terms of goal difference (+24 compared to +8).

This is the first time in history that the young team Bosnia & Herzegovina has won the right to participate in a major football festival.

People of Bosnia & Herzegovina flocked to the streets of the capital Sarajevo to celebrate the historic victory of their home players in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Since gaining independence in 1992, this former Yugoslav country has never qualified for major tournaments.

In this 2014 World Cup qualifier, Bosnia & Herzegovina was lucky to enter Group G, which was not too difficult, where only Greece and Slovakia were two significant opponents.

Greece (blue shirt) tried their best, but still could not take the top spot in the group from Dzeko’s Bosnia & Herzegovina (white shirt).

Despite certain stumbles like when they lost 0-1 to Slovakia at home and were forced to compete with Greece, coach Susic and his team were still strong enough to maintain the top spot until the moment the qualifying round ended.
