On August 18, the People’s Procuracy of Da Nang City issued an indictment prosecuting Chen Xian Fa (27 years old, Chinese nationality), Ho Thi Thu Trinh (24 years old, residing in Quang Nam), Huynh Ngoc Diem (41 years old, residing in Da Nang).

According to the indictment, on July 11, Da Nang Police inspected the administrative house at 39 Duong Tu Giang, Ngu Hanh Son District, and discovered that Chen Xian Fa and three other Chinese people did not have passports or visas.

Police determined that on June 23, Fa, who was in China, contacted Ho Thi Thu Trinh in Da Nang via Wechat to ask for help renting a three-bedroom apartment.

A group of Chinese people illegally entered Da Nang in July and were discovered by the police.

Even though they knew that the group of Chinese people planning to come to Da Nang did not have entry visas, Trinh and Diem still looked for a house to rent out.

Trinh and Diem discussed raising the price to 23 million VND to split the difference, then reported it to Fa.

Fa told the remaining three people to meet at the Guangxi bus station, China.

Trinh regularly keeps in touch with Fa by texting via Wechat.

The next evening, Trinh took Fa to a house on Tran Trong Khiem Street, Khue My Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, to receive a dark blue suitcase and some bags from a Vietnamese person, inside were 14 laptop computers.

During the time the Chinese group stayed at the house on Yangtze River Street, Trinh and Diem helped buy personal items and daily food, until they were discovered by the police.

Searching Trinh’s house on Da Man street, authorities also confiscated 31 laptops, 131 mobile phones, 2 USBs and 2 Chinese passports with the names Hong Dong Huan and Lu Lipeng;

The police investigation agency said that in 2018, Trinh, who was a student in the Chinese language department at Da Nang University of Foreign Languages, came to tutor at Diem’s house.

In 2019, Fa connected with Trinh via the Wechat application.

The investigation agency has frozen Ho Thi Thu Trinh’s bank accounts with a total amount of more than 919 million VND;

Previously, Da Nang Police on July 21 prosecuted the case of Organizing permission for others to enter Vietnam.

In recent years, Da Nang police have solved many cases related to Chinese people coming to Vietnam to gamble online.

At the end of 2018, Son Tra district police solved a case of online gambling with 15 Chinese people violating the law.
