After 60 years of existence and development, the 911 has always been considered by Porsche to be the symbol and soul of the brand.

To date, the 911 has always been the design standard for Porsche cars, from the Cayenne, Panamera, 718, Macan or the pure electric car Taycan.

The first generation 911 was announced by Porsche at the Frankfurt (IAA) exhibition in 1963, under the name 901, then officially changed its name to 911 and maintained until today.

In 1966, Porsche launched the 911 S with 160 horsepower and the first 911 Targa with a stainless steel roll bar.

After that, the two-door coupe model had its cylinder capacity increased by Porsche, from 2.2 (1969) to 2.4 (1971).

10 years later, the second generation 911 was born, the highlight being the G version (1973-1989) which was longer than all previous 911 models.

The 911 generations use a rear-mounted horizontal cylinder boxer engine.

The third generation Porsche 911 (964) was born in 1988, the car was renewed by 85% compared to the previous one, equipped with a 3.6 horizontal, air-cooled engine with a capacity of 250 horsepower.

The last air-cooled engine versions were born in the 993 generation (1993), one of the periods when this car line had the most loyal followers.

The 996 generation Porsche 911 GT3 was launched in May 1999.

The next generation 911 (model number 997) was born in 2004, marking a step forward when the German sports car company chose to combine classic and modern.

Launched in 2011, the 911 generation number 991 was born, marking a technological leap.

The 992 generation of Porsche 911 started in 2019 and continues to this day, debuting at the LA Autoshow (USA).
